Shirlene Barnett’s first job in real estate hardly promised to change her life. Starting as a receptionist, she soon enrolled in the classes required to be a REALTOR®. She values her informal education more, however, taught by mentor Leslie Walters. “She taught me so much more than the classes could.” It was a big step, but Shirlene never looked back. Her special thrill is turning home-ownership dreams into reality. Yet succeeding in real estate fades against the joys of motherhood, for her family and faith affirm her. “God is an awesome God,” she says. “I am blessed to live in a little part of heaven on the Central Coast and in Bakersfield. I love seeing other people blessed too.”
